A first of its kinds stunt for a first of its kind camera

In 2016, Samsung unveiled the Gear 360. So we worked with YouTube superstar and 360 enthusiast Casey Neistat to produce a holiday-themed stunt showcasing the camera’s creative potential.

A month-long stream of teaser content from Casey and fellow YouTuber Jesse Wellens built to a jaw-dropping 360 video of Casey being pulled by a drone on his snowboard through town and into the sky above Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi, Finland. It was coupled with the world’s first 360 holiday card, and a subsequent 360 behind-the-scenes video and vlog that gave fans first-hand, immersive looks at how it was all done.

The campaign made an immediate and massive impact, garnering digital and broadcast coverage from outlets including ABC, Fox News, Adweek, AdAge, Yahoo, Mashable, The Verge, and The Huffington Post. To date, the content has earned over 66MM video views, 151MM impressions, and 3MM engagements.
